Spokane AAU Prepares for Tip-Off

Spokane AAU is here to provide the best in youth basketball. Started in 2002, this program of Spokane Hoopfest operates as a competitive youth 5on5 basketball league and tournaments for girls and boys in grades four through eight.

“This is not your national AAU,” explains Executive Director Matt Santangelo. “Spokane AAU is a local homegrown program. It was founded by a group of coaches that were passionate about providing our youth athletes with the most authentic basketball experience possible. It is organized and operated by the same team that brings you the Best Basketball Weekend on Earth, Spokane Hoopfest, each and every June. We are proud in our league and excited for another great season!”

For our 2019-20 season, make sure you are aware of the following:

  • Player Add Period: The dates for the Player Add Period for teams registered in the 2019-20 Spokane AAU League is October 14-18, 2019.
  • To add a player, you must complete paper forms which are available in the office.
  • Players added during the Player Add Period will be eligible to participate in all twelve games of the league season.
  • Teams are grade-level based.
  • Players may play up a grade level, but are not allowed to play down.
  • Each player must have a current AAU Card. Don’t have one? Here’s how to get one.
  • COACHES MEETING: Spokane AAU will hold the mandatory Coaches Meeting on Monday, October 21, 2019.
  • This meeting is mandatory for head coaches, as well as assistant coaches.
  • At the conclusion of the meeting, the coaches will be given the schedules and other pertinent information for the upcoming season.
  • BOO BALL FALL CLASSIC: registration for our fall tournament is now under way and we are quickly approaching the deadline of October 14, 2019. It’s a great way to kick off the season with your team! Register now.
